The ongoing conversation
Troll trouble by John Bauer. A fantasy illustration (public domain). As I was knocking around some character ideas and checking out the Prestige Class options, I noticed that the Paths of Prestige‘s Storm Kindler had the unusual prerequisite “Must worship a god of storms.” (This is unusual in that it’s not codeable in PCGen, for […]
Some quick rules of thumb for those of you with a website and a website admin (someone you contact when you need something changed or updated on the site), based on my attempts to do some things with those websites: Is it your domain name, or the website admin’s? This is the realm of the […]
Thanks to hanging out with some puzzling people on Facebook, and growing up playing word games in general, I noticed oddities of letter arrangements while I’m writing. Like say I was figuring out how to make the past tense of “video”, then wrote “videoed”, then noticed the “EOE” sequence is pretty unusual in English. Maybe […]
So this was, perhaps, my 18th consecutive Gen Con; I believe my streak started in 1995. This year, as last year, I boothed for IELLO Games USA. I had many friends among the nearly 50,000 attendees, a few of which I actually managed to have conversations with, but others whose presence I was only aware […]

This is part 2 of the interview with singer-songwriter Aly Tadros and Jus Post Bellum (Hannah Jensen and Geoffrey Wilson). I posted the first part a while back, but transcribing my audio files takes an incredibly long time. If you don’t just sit down and get it done. Aly Tadros and Jus Post Bellum kicked off […]
In one of those serendipitous moments of webcomic synchronicity, today’s Pain Train: was followed shortly by today’s XKCD: So look to the skies! If you see evidence of an impending extinction-level event, post it to Instagram! (And check Snopes before sharing it on Facebook, please.) —jhunterj
Back in August, Reaper Miniatures had an insanely successful Kickstarter campaign to launch their “Bones” line of plastic miniatures. By the end of the campaign, the add-on stretch goals were enough to entice even me, who’s never painted a miniature before, to get in on it. And then the penultimate stretch goal was Kaladrax Reborn. […]
The Miami Valley Restaurant Association partnered with Yuengling this past weekend to bring Dayton “Brews, Bands, & BBQ” at Carillon Park this weekend. I got there in time for Love and Theft‘s set (and for the closing bars of Parmalee‘s set). Randy Houser came on later in the evening. And of course, it was another […]
This is actually part of the the interview, with singer-songwriter Aly Tadros and Jus Post Bellum (Hannah Jensen and Geoffrey Wilson). This first part is almost exclusively Aly, though. Aly Tadros and Jus Post Bellum kicked off a tour of the Midwest with a stop on May 22 at Ghostlight Coffee in Dayton, Ohio. It […]
